Ananya Birla founded Svatantra Microfin Pvt. Ltd. (Svatantra), at the age of 17, setting a new benchmark in microfinance with a vision for technology - led financial inclusion for her country. Her stewardship led Svatantra to acquire Chaitanya India Fin Credit Pvt. Ltd. placing her at the helm of India's second-largest microfinance institution (MFI). The company secured PE investment of INR 1,930CR from Advent International and Multiples Private Equity, marking it as the largest-ever investment in the sector.
